Transferring a snowmobile title is a simple process if you follow the right steps. As the seller, you'll need to have the title notarized and fill out a Bill of Sale or Affidavit of Gift. The buyer will need to complete the Title and Registration Application and submit the required documents within 15 days. This guide helps you understand the necessary steps so the transfer is done correctly and smoothly.


Steps to complete as the seller:

  1. Transfer the Certificate of Title

    1. The seller must appear before a notary to witness and notarize the title transfer.

    2. Do not sign the title beforehand—the notary will instruct you where to sign.


  2. Prepare Bill of Sale or Affidavit of Gift

    1. The seller drafts the form, which acknowledges the sale of the snowmobile.

While notarization is not required for this document, it is recommended to:
